In Our Prayers

Bill Lewis, that doctors will be able to diagnose the cause of his irregular heartbeat…Fern Smith will undergo chemotherapy treatments this week. Jacquie is going there to be with her….Remember Mildred Meyers, Sue Jackson, and Harold Brunswick in nursing homes.

Sterling Prison Ministry: Dan Kafka reported 22 baptisms last week.

Grief Support group Each Thursday from October 12 to November 16, 7 pm, Lied Library conference room. We will begin advertising in the paper this week.

On the Calendar

Thursday, September 21 – Women’s Bible Class will study Titus 1 at 10:45 at the Sunset Apartments. On Thursday, nine women from five churches gathered for the study.

Saturday, September 23 – Dawna Phillips called to invite us to a Crawfish Cajun Boil Benefit dinner at the VFW, starting at noon. $25/person; $35/couple. Dinner honors PJ Pajerski, funds go toward high school scholarships.

Sunday, October 29 – Areawide Singing hosted by the Stratton church, at the former Girl Scout Camp, 3:30 pm Central Time.

Sick in the Community: Les Smith, recovering from a partial amputation of one of his feet due to a neurological disease.

December 1: Women’s Bible Study, 10:45 a.m., Sunset Apartment, with a study of Ephesians 5.

December 9-11: Spiritual Giftedness Seminar, with guest speaker Doug Hamilton. Scottsbluff Church of Christ. Friday 7-9 pm, Saturday 9-11:50 am, Sunday 9:45 – 2:00, including lunch. See the bulletin board for a list of topics.

December 11: Potluck, followed by men’s business meeting and Secret Sisters’ party.

Mildred Meyers in the Manor and Sue Jackson in Sunrise Heights…Boomer Libra, recovering from West Nile virus…Jacquie Grams, with an infection in her leg…Danelle Hayes, with a chronic intestinal disorder that prevents her from digesting her food.

For the Westside church, that we might “search the Word  daily” (Acts 17:11), appreciating those who sacrificed their lives so that we could read it for ourselves.

September 24 – Doors of Opportunity. Joe and Linda Thomas are visiting in St. Francis, Kansas, and Brush, Colorado, today.

In Our Prayers

Mildred Meyers who is now in the Manor.

Margene Hayes, back in home after being hospitalized with pneumonia. Janelle and Danelle are here while she recovers.

Norma’s nephew, Warren Taylor, who was back in the hospital but has now been able to return home.

Megan Jaeger, Randy and Deb’s granddaughter, studying in Europe this semester.

The Westside church, that we will learn to carry our crosses, follow Christ, and be willing to give up everything (Luke 14.27,33).

On the Calendar

Sunday, June 12. Bruce Morton, Assistant Bible Professor from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, will teach the morning adult class and preach.

Tuesday, June 14. Joe and Linda Thomas will be in Imperial to help us plan for our Doors of Opportunity Seminar, which will be here on September 24. We’ll have a cookout at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7:00.

Mildred Meyers, who seems to adjusting well in the Manor.

Norma’s nephew Warren Taylor, who underwent a liver transplant this past week. He is doing well and expects to go home soon.

Megan Jaeger, Randy and Deb’s granddaughter, studying in Europe this semester….Randy and Deb, who are traveling this weekend to attend grandson Carson’s high school graduation in Kearney.

The Westside church, that we will worship our Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Mildred Meyers has been moved into the Manor.

Norma’s nephew Warren Taylor, is in critical condition, still awaiting a liver transplant.

Megan Jaeger, studying in Europe this semester.

The Westside church, that we will abide in Christ and bear much fruit (John 15:1-8).

Today, May 8. Potluck after worship. There will be no men’s business meeting.
